Since I started this quilt in March, I've had an exhibit opening at work, three weeks of travel, and a couple breaks to make presents for family members that kept me from finishing this quilt as fast as I would have liked. I finally finished this massive quilt on the 4th of July and I was so happy to see all these little animal blocks come together so beautifully!
Just how big is the Fancy Forest quilt? It's made up of four quadrants, and each quadrant is big enough to be a baby blanket! (Adorable dog pictured for scale.)
This quilt also has the distinction of having my biggest mistake yet since I started quilting. After all this work, I sewed the top and bottom together upside down! Ripping that seam out was punishment enough to ensure I won't make that mistake twice.
Once I fixed my mistake and added borders, the quilt was beautiful! I'm so proud of this finish and I can't wait to visit it at Quilters Quest!
