QuiltCon 2017 was a whirlwind! I'll be writing recap posts about my first QuiltCon next week. Today, I want to tell you about a new pattern I tested for Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill of Whole Circle Studio. The pattern was released during QuiltCon and is part of Sheri's collaborative project with Aurifil Thread.
If you were at QuiltCon, or even if you were watching the QuiltCon hashtag on Instagram, you definitely saw Whole Circle Studio's "270 Colors Quilt," which Sheri made for Aurifil's booth to showcase each of their 270 thread colors. Lucky for us, Whole Circle Studio and Aurifil partnered to make a free mini quilt pattern called "Sew Many Colors" that I had the pleasure of testing. I've tested patterns for Sheri before, and like every pattern she's created, "Sew Many Colors" is easy to understand, a fast make, and a truly beautiful finished product.
For my test, I used my favorite colors from Alison Glass' Coordinating Kona Solids bundle and an older Alison Glass print for the back. Of course, I quilted it using Aurifil thread! The "Sew Many Colors" pattern is the perfect decoration for your sewing space. My partner and I recently bought our first house, and I now have my own dedicated sewing room that I've been decorating. A friend from my guild, @redheadwiththread, has IKEA shelves in her sewing room to store her threads, and I loved that idea. I now have all my Aurifil spools on shelves and this lovely mini quilt hanging above. It really adds so much color to the room!
